The total sales in this segment stood at an impressive 94,558 units in July 2023, marking a 21.55 percent increase from the 77,795 units sold in July 2022. This growth is indicative of the increasing popularity of compact SUVs among consumers

Maruti Suzuki Brezza secured the numero uno position as its sales surged by 70.39 per cent YoY to 16,543 units in July 2023. This was a growth of 6,834 units from 9,709 units sold in July 2023 while it was at 56.39 per cent

In July 2023, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx managed to outsell more established models in the sub-4 meter/crossover segment such as the Tata Nexon, Tata Punch, and Hyundai Venue. The sales of the Fronx stood at an impressive 13,220 units, marking a substantial increase of 65.44 percent over the 7,991 units sold in June 2023

The Tata Nexon, a popular compact SUV in the Indian market, experienced a decline in sales in July 2023. The vehicle's sales figures dropped to 12,349 units, marking a significant decrease of 13.12 per cent from the 14,214 units sold in July 2022. This downward trend was also observed on a month-on-month basis, with sales falling by 10.69 per cent from the 13,827 units sold in June 2023

Tata Nexon

Tata Punch’s sales figures for this popular model have shown a remarkable improvement in recent months. In July 2023, Tata Punch recorded a sale of 12,019 units, marking a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 9.19 per cent from the 11,007 units sold in July 2022. This also represents a month-on-month (MoM) increase of 9.36 per cent from the 10,990 units sold in June 2023

Hyundai Venue, a compact SUV, experienced a dip in sales. In July 2023, the sales of the Venue fell by 16.15 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and 13.30 per cent month-on-month (MoM), with only 10,062 units sold. This is a significant decrease compared to the 12,000 units sold in July and the 11,606 units sold in June of the same year

The Mahindra Bolero, a household name in semi-urban and rural India, has seen a significant surge in sales, with an impressive 12.68 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and 2.71 per cent month-on-month (MoM) growth, selling 8,921 units

Mahindra Thar recorded an impressive 45.60 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and 35.03 per cent month-on-month (MoM) growth in July 2023. In absolute terms, the company sold 5,265 units of the Thar model in July 2023

Mahindra XUV300 has seen a dip in sales in July 2023. The sales figures reveal a year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 16.44 per cent, with the number of units sold falling to 4,961 from 5,937 units sold in July 2022. This decline is also reflected in the month-on-month (MoM) sales, which fell by 2.61 per cent from 5,094 units sold in June 2023

In July, Kia Sonet reported a significant decline in sales. The company sold a total of 4,245 units of the Sonet in July 2023, marking a substantial decrease from the 7,722 units sold in June 2023 and the 7,215 units sold in July 2022. This represents a month-on-month (MoM) de-growth of 45 per cent and a year-on-year (YoY) de-growth of 41 per cent
