BT500 List: Reliance Industries, TCS, HDFC Bank, Airtel In Top 10

Business Today magazine has released this year’s BT500 List, which is the definitive listing of India’s most valuable companies by market cap

The ranking is based on the average daily market cap for the 12-month period from Oct 1, 2021, to Sept 30, 2022. The cumulative market capitalisation of BT500 companies this year stood at Rs 251.33 lakh crore, registering a growth of 26 per cent

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)

The Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Limited has maintained its numero uno position this year after ranking no 1 even in the BT500 List for 2021

BT500 2022 Topper RIL

TCS maintained its 2021 ranking in this year’s BT500 List.

- Market Cap: Rs 12.8 lakh crore approx. 

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)

HDFC Bank

HDFC Bank, which ranked 3rd in BT500 List 2021, managed to rank third once again.
- Rank: 3
- Market Cap: Rs 8.1 lakh crore approx.

Founded by Narayana Murthy, the IT giant Infosys ranked fourth in this year’s BT500 List, a repeat of its 2021 ranking.

- Market Cap: Rs 6.9 lakh crore approx.

Rounding off the top 5 in BT500 List is Hindustan Unilever, which also maintained its 2021 ranking.

ICICI Bank has moved up a notch from its 7th rank in last year's BT500 List.

- Market Cap: Rs 5.3 lakh crore approx.

ICICI Bank

HDFC slipped to the 7th spot in BT500 List 2022, after ranking 6th in 2021.
- Rank: 7
- Market Cap: Rs 4.45 lakh crore approx.

Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC)

The smart showing by SBI has seen it move up from No 10 last year to No 8 in 2022. 
- Rank: 8
- Market Cap: Rs 4.43 lakh crore approx.

State Bank of India (SBI)

LIC is a fresh entrant in this year's BT500 List. The insurance PSU made it to the top 10 after listing on the stock market in May 2022.
- Rank: 9
- Market Cap: Rs 4.42  lakh crore approx.

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC)

Bharti Airtel moved up from its 11th rank in 2021 to become the new entrant rounding off the top 10 in BT500 List of most valuable companies.
