Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia reiterated the government’s roadmap to reclaim India’s position as a global aviation hub. "Out of 1.38 billion people in our country, 144 million travel by air. Of those, many are repeat travellers so actually the penetration rate in India is hardly 3-4% so sky is the limit. We have got 94% penetration left to achieve," said Scindia

"Civil Aviation is a sector which is rearing to go," said Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia. He cited the example of Tata Group placing the world's largest order worth $70 billion with Boeing and Airbus for boosting Air India’s expansion

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “My dream is to create multiple hubs in India whether it’s North, South or West India. But we have had legacy issues where we have given away multiple number of our routings to our neighbours in the East and the West. It is time to regain those hubs.”

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted how the Centre has been successful in democratising the civil aviation sector. He said, "Aviation was also seen as an elitist product. But through UDAN scheme, 74 airports in areas no one has even heard of have been built in the last 6 years, bringing to the fore lakhs of passengers.”

Jyotiraditya Scindia said, “In the last six years, 463 routes that were never thought to be feasible have been made possible through the UDAN scheme… We have flown around 1 crore, 16 lakh passengers through UDAN.”
